Introduction
Related Documentation
EX AMANI is a Command Post Exercise (CPX) that is being conducted in Kenya by the EASBRIG Coordination Mechanism. The CPX is based on Peace Support Operations (PSOs) and is designed to validate the EASBRIG proof of concept to international and regional partners. The setting of the exercise is in the hypothetical failed State of CARANA.
Aim
The aim of CPX 08 is to “demonstrate the capacity of the deployable Brigade Headquarters and PLANELM to conduct strategic and operational planning and preparation for multi-dimensional operations and to exercise command and control of deployed forces, on a simulated UN and AU mandated PSO, in order to confirm the Initial Operating Capacity (IOC) of the Brigade HQ and PLANELM mechanisms”.
Objectives
The objectives of CPX 08 are as follows:
-
To increase political and military cohesion and co-operation across the member States of EASBRIG.
-
To demonstrate firm intent and regional ability to achieve the AU ASF roadmap.
-
To practice the Brigade HQ staff, the PLANELM and other Multi-Agency organizations in the Integrated Mission Planning, Command and Control and execution of PSOs, with a view to enhancing interoperability, mutual understanding and co-operation within a multi-dimensional setting and environment.
-
To build capacity and familiarization with the functions of non-military organizations during PSOs and also design measures, physical and psychological, for credible deterrence and pre-emption of crises.
